2022 Corvette Convertible Named IntelliChoice’s Best Premium Performance Car of the Year

The new mid-engine Corvette is a smart buy.

If you’re an avid enthusiast like us, you’re probably responding with a resounding “Duhhhh!”

But now you have more than just your subjective feelings to support that conclusion. The 2022 Corvette hardtop convertible has been named Best Premium Performance Car in the annual IntelliChoice Best Overall Value of the Year awards that strive to help drivers make smart buying choices.

For more than 35 years, IntelliChoice has led the industry in car value analysis. This year, it looked at the five-year ownership costs of almost 2,500 vehicles, considering key areas like depreciation, maintenance, insurance, financing, fuel, fees, and repair costs.

The Best Value of the Year awards honor vehicles with significantly lower than expected ownership costs compared to other vehicles in the same category.

Besides the Corvette, the only other General Motors vehicle to be honored was the Cadillac Escalade, which won the Luxury Utility award.

Overall, Toyota and Lexus continued to dominate the awards, taking a total of six wins, but Jeep was in the mix with three wins with its Wrangler, Wrangler Unlimited, and Grand Cherokee.
