Corvette Delivery Dispatch with National Corvette Seller Mike Furman for April 17th

Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

It’s been a couple of weeks since we’ve had a Sunday delivery post from one of the busiest guys in the Corvette Nation as Mike had been out at Spring Mountain where he hosted his customers attending the Corvette Owner’s School at the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School. Once he got back into town, he hit the ground running to deliver these great-looking Corvettes to their happy owners. There are some interesting color combinations this week as you can see from our featured image above. ~Throughout my 5,450+ Corvette deliveries there are always a "mental top 100 list" of delivery stories. I’ve never written a book and don’t plan to but there are certain deliveries that stand out in my mind and this one has to be top 5.

-Back in 2003 when I was the General Mgr of a small Maryland Country Chevrolet store, I handled all the Corvettes calls, leads, etc, and then would dole them out to the sales staff for delivery, etc. Well, one day this 50 yrs young woman came in and said her husband’s 50th birthday is coming up and it’s their 25th wedding anniversary and she wanted to do something special for him. Every Saturday evening for 27 years they went to the same local restaurant and for the last 22 years had the same waitress. This waitress would always come over after dinner/dessert/drinks and say to the couple " Will there be anything else?" and like clockwork the husband would respond "Yes, keys to a brand new Corvette!" This couple had never owned a Corvette so everyone always got a good chuckle out of it. Well, this woman had me search the entire country for a brand new 50th anniversary 2003 Corvette Convt with Auto trans and I located one in South Dakota. I had it trucked in the dealership and she paid/signed for it. We then formulated a plan for his 50th birthday dinner to have us park the New 50th Anniv. Corvette Convt. behind the restaurant and give the keys to the waitress. So just as planned the waitress asked and he replied, "yes keys to a brand new Corvette" and she obliged courtesy of the gentleman’s wife. The entire Restaraunt staff and patrons stood up and walked out back to watch the husbands jaw drop…trust me, his smile was incredible…and after the tears of joy he gave his loving wife a long-lasting hug. The crowd cheered.

~Last week I hosted 3 Classes full of my customers from around the USA at Spring Mountain Race Track in Pahrump, Nevada. They completed their Corvette Furman Owners School experience and a great time was had by all. Thank you to the entire staff at Ron Fellows! I look forward to another 54 of my Corvette customers (and guests) joining me in October (2/3 and 4/5) for the Fall version of the Corvette Furman owners school! Spring Mountain Racetrack in Pahrump, Nevada is a Top Flight facility.

~C8 Corvette deliveries around the globe…

~I had the honor to assist the folks at the Bowling Green, KY Fire Dept with the purchase of this 2022 Torch Red Corvette and last Monday was their Corvette Museum delivery. Below is the write up from Ron Renner of the Bowling Green Fire Department.

"It’s an honor for our department to be able to provide protection to National Corvette Museum and GM plant. Now we also have the distinct honor and pleasure to show off this iconic corvette coupe with our badge on it! The BGFA will lease this corvette to the city for $1 for the majority of the year. This car will be used this year for School prevention classes, parades, and special events! Want a chance to own this corvette? This car will be raffled off at the 8th Annual Fireman’s Ball sponsored by ServPro of Warren County at the Corvette Museum on November 19th, 2022! Proceeds from the corvette will provide funds to the Bowling Green Firefighters Association – a non profit that supports many causes such as the “shop with a firefighter” campaign. We would like to extend a huge thank you to the people that made this happen: Mike Furman at Criswell Chevrolet for getting us the allocation; the Mingus Family and Team Construction for covering our costs; and Shane Webb and the great team at the National Corvette Museum for setting this delivery up! We are blessed, to say the least, and are very proud of our department and city!!” Thank you and I wish you the best of luck with this raffle for their charity. “This is the first time we’ve done this and it’s not a one-shot deal for us, we’ll be here every year,” Fire Chief Justin Brooks said, “and what’s special about this Corvette is it’s personalized…the last 3 on the VIN number is 911.” The 2022 Corvette Stingray was secured and ordered for the Bowling Green Fire Department by Mike Furman of Criswell Chevrolet. Also assisting the Bowling Green Fire Department in this effort are the Mingus Family, Team Construction, and the R8C delivery team at the NCM.

~Carolyn H. of Brandywine, Maryland owned a C7 and now her garage has a New C8! Carolyn brought along her fellow corvette club member and friend Reggie to place the order and Friday at delivery. My day off today but I knew Carolyn was bursting with enthusiasm so we made the appt for 8:30am and they were right on time at 8:15 am. Carolyn ordered a Hypersonic Gray metallic with Natural interior for her 2022 Corvette coupe. Equipment list: 2LT pkg, low wing spoiler, GT2 buckets, magnetic ride, Sterling silver Trident wheels and more. Just in time for her next Corvette club meeting and her corvette will be the star! Congrats Carolyn.

~Tarek K. of Miami, Florida wrapped up the paperwork/payment process via Fed Ex and Plycar trucking enclosed trailered his new Red Mist 2022 Corvette Z51 convertible to his Miami home. Loaded with 3LT and all the goodies including the two piece luggage! Check out the two tone Natural/Black interior which goes great with Red Mist metallic Tintcoat!

~Barry W. of Viera, Florida factory ordered his Ceramic Matrix gray 2022 Corvette Z51 Convt with the two tone tension/twilight blue interior. Last week they took delivery at the corvette museum in bowling green, KY. Fully loaded and headed back to their Florida home.

~Rich G. of Beecher, Illinois factory ordered from me a Rapid Blue 2022 Corvette Z51 coupe with Jet black interior, 3LT pkg and a whole list of goodies. Last Friday they took delivery of their new Stingray at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY.

~Jim and Glenda P. of Franklin, Tennessee didn’t have far to travel as they ordered their new Hypersonic Gray metallic 2022 Corvette Coupe from me and took delivery at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY today. The two tone Adrenaline Red/Black interior looks great with Hypersonic Gray paint and the body color exterior accents and low rear spoiler. I’m sure they enjoyed the red carpet being rolled out for them by the Museum staff.

~Shawn T. of Berlin, Maryland picked up his new Arctic White 2022 Corvette Z51 coupe last week and was truly excited to get this Corvette and who can blame him! Check out the Sky Cool gray/black two tone interior and Red seat belts! Great looking interior. Shawn’s girlfriend Rosie drove the chase car while Shawn piloted the C8 Corvette back to the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

~Gary and Gloria T. of South Barrington, Illinois placed their factory order with me for their third Corvette, the other two were a Red 1987 Convertible and a 50th Anniversary 2003 Convertible. Last week they drove away in an Arctic White 2022 Corvette Coupe with Adrenaline Red interior. Upon seeing it Gary said “it was exactly what he was seeking and couldn’t wait to drive it…and often!”

~Ed Z. of Canton, Georgia took delivery at the Corvette Museum last week in Bowling Green , KY. Looks like Ed had the red carpet rolled out for his Arctic White 2022 Corvette Z51 Convt with Natural/Black two tone interior. The tan seat belts and Carbon flash painted top/ nacelles are a nice touch as well!

~Mark C. of Acworth, Georgia hopped on a flight last week so he could meet me at Criswell the next morning(Friday) even though it was my day off. I had him in and out in 40 minutes as I needed to go over the Corvette as his only other two Corvettes were a 1979 and a 1986.
Mark ordered an Elkhart Lake Blue 2022 Corvette Z51 coupe and had Criswell Service add the high wing spoiler and ground effects pkg. The two tone Adrenaline Red/black interior is a nice touch and goes well with any color especially EL Blue!

~Jason U. of Colorado Springs, Colorado factory ordered his Corvette from me and had our Corvette techs prep it while we finished up the paperwork/payment process via Fed Ex. Last week Plycar trucking loaded it up for the 1,500 mile enclosed trailer ride to Jason’s Colorado home. Arctic White with Adrenaline Red interior is what he chose for his 2022 Corvette coupe and Criswell service added the Carbon Flash high wing spoiler.

~Robert S. of Newtown, Pennsylvania picked up his very first Corvette last week, an Arctic White 2022 Stingray Convertible with Black interior and Red seat belts. The week before his brother had picked up Vin 18875 and Bob received his Covette with sequential vin 18874. Both were thrilled as brothers to take delivery of sequential built Corvettes. His son Robby and friend Dan joined them for the three hour trip to Criswell Chevrolet of Gaithersburg, MD.

~Michael P. of Miami Beach, Floridafactory ordered an Arctic White 2022 Corvette Z51 Convertible with Adrenaline Red interior and Black top which matches the inaugural year Corvette in 1953, all 300 first year Corvettes were Polo White with Red interior and Black top. He just finished the paperwork process via Fed Ex and Plycar trucking delivered it via enclose trailer to his Florida home.

~So the first person I run into as he is getting ready to tackle the new track is Mike Courtney of New Mexico. We had never met as he bought his Corvette from me remotely. He was shocked to have me just walk up as he was putting air in his tires. Of course he is on my Z06 list as well and anxious but patient. Mike is a Spring Mountain track member here in Pahrump, NV for the last 4 years and headed home to New Mexico after his week track session.

~Mario and Cindy G. of Jacksonville, Florida flew up and drove back to Florida last week in their new Amplify Orange 2022 Corvette Convertible with Natural/black interior and Orange seatbelts. Wonderful folks that sold their C7 and couldn’t wait to get the C8!

~Joanne and Dave W. of Selbyville, Delaware have bought a C6 and a C7 from me and several Trucks, vans and even a New Nissan 350 Z over the last 17 years from me but last week they picked up a new 2022 Traverse in Mosaic Black metallic. What started out as a referral to me in 2005 has seen a great friendship grow over the years. They even joined me at Spring Mountain a few years ago for the Corvette Furman driving school in Pahrump, Nevada. Pictured below is their current Corvette and their new Traverse and of course the ever present Plycar truck in the background shipping out C8’s all over the USA.

~Keith and Noelle M. of Manchester, Washington factory ordered from me a Torch Red with Adrenaline Red/Black two tone interior 2022 Corvette coupe and I had it drop shipped for courtesy delivery at their local Chevrolet dealership in Auburn, Washington. Short note just received “Love the car Mike! It’s awesome! Just got the 500 miles in today.”

~Dan S. of Telford, Pennsylvania factory ordered his new Ceramic Matrix Gray metallic 2022 Corvette coupe with Natural interior and last Tuesday took delivery at the National Corvette Museum in BG, KY. Dan had the red carpet rolled out for him and his guests.
Previous Corvettes owned: 96 convt, 65 coupe and a BB 67 Convt.

~Mark V. of Gaithersburg, Maryland is a Senior MGR here at Criswell Automotive and didn’t have to go far to catch the Corvette fever and place his order. Mark is a car buff dating back to his Father owning a 2nd generation Corvette brand new back in the 60’s. Mark ordered a Ceramic Matrix Gray metallic 2022 Corvette convertible with Sky cool gray interior and yellow seat belts which pair up great with the Yellow full length dual racing stripes and yellow painted calipers.
