[VIDEO] C8 Corvette Gets Stuck on the Beach in Galveston

During my childhood we would visit my grandparents who lived in a condo on New Smyrna Beach on Florida’s East Coast and I’ll forever remember the endless parade of cool cars driving and parking on the white sandy beach with the Atlantic ocean in the background. I always thought how cool it would be to cruise the beach one day in a convertible Corvette! Hey, a kid can dream, right?

Unfortunately for this C8 Stingray Corvette owner, his dream of driving on the beach turned into a bit of a nightmare as the beach exit was more like quicksand. Will he be able to escape without damaging his Rapid Blue ride? That remains to be seen.

The Corvette driver isn’t the only one having trouble escaping the sandy confines of the beach in Galveston. Texas. A number of cars were seen spinning their wheels as they attempted to gain any traction and it’s only those that are being pushed (by a couple Texas-Strong ladies no less) that are the ones making it out of the mess.

At some point during the extraction, we see a tow strap wrapped around the front passenger-side wheel and it sure does look like something snapped on the suspension as tension on the strap was applied by a tow vehicle. It’s another reason why you should keep a tow hook for your car. It’s not just for those who want that racing-inspired look!

The Stingray is eventually pulled to the beach access exit and that’s where the video ends, however, we are sure the owner of this Corvette will be finding remnants of his beach visit in the Stingray for quite a while.

  1. Pithy comment #1: Obviously field testing the new four wheel drive model Corvette equipped with the high clearance option in sand mode.

  2. Maybe you should have to take an IQ test to buy a C8? Lets see never drive in soft sand, if you answered yes you can buy one if not you get to buy a Miata.

  3. Is that where the term “junk in the trunk” comes from? If it had been on the other end, would it have been “junk in the frunk”? Asking for a couple of non photogenic friends.

  4. Time for the new Corvette brand to make a bubble top soccer mom 4 wheel drive SUV. Can call it Corvangler Maybe can compete with the ugly boxy looking Range Rover.

  5. What a sad chapter in this story of this particular Corvette history that was adopted by a moron who doesn’t appreciate his vehicle. I’d like to know how someone so stupid gathered the funds to buy such a mechanical work of art despite not possessing the minimum amount of ntelligence to know the fact this car is capable of amazing feat its certainly isn’t an off road sandrail. My dad owns a C7, looks like the day be bought it. He’s dying to trade his in on one if these new C8’s however every dealer in Phoenix including the suburb are all asking despite its $65K MSRP price tag every dealer is tossing a $20K addendum sticker price on the car and the problem is people are paying it. He absolutely refuses anything over Chevrolet’s MSRP. He’s completely OK paying sticker despite owning a glass company and accustomed to paying invoice or close to. However buying somewhere around a dozens of trucks over the past decade from this particular dealership, it’s fair to say he won’t be buying another vehicles from that particular dealer, despite all dealers in the area doing this one he had never bought a car from a least budge to 10K over sticker but there willingness to budge on the price to a new customer will be getting his business going forward when the demand drops and they sale at the price Chevy set. To see someone own on of these cars just to be an absolute idiot own pull this garbage, I hope the fact this has going viral embarrasses the heck out of him, though he probably thinks it’s cool.

  6. Stokanator, maybe the moron in the sand and the dealer who sold Pops all those trucks (and presumably gets the service business) are one in the same person?
