[VIDEO] Chevrolet's 'Holiday Ride' Christmas Video Will Leave You in Tears

Chevrolet is out with their annual Christmas tv commercial and this one is a tear-jerker.

It opens with a man opening the doors to his barn and seeing his late wife’s 1966 Chevrolet Impala that is now dusty and broken down. Seeing her father’s love of the car, the daughter recruits her dad’s car buddies to help fix it up. In a scene worthy of ‘Overhaulin,’ the car is pulled from the barn and restored through the night and then placed back in the barn. The following day, the father sees the newly restored car and he and his daughter take it out for a ride.

There are two versions of the commercial with a one-minute version cut for TV while this four-minute version is running on Chevrolet’s YouTube channel:

Well done, Chevrolet.

  1. I watched it twice and it really hit home, I lost my wife 14 years ago and it still hurts. She use to love driving/riding in the Corvette, I had 4 Corvette’s while she was alive and my 5th is the new C8 that she will never drive, or sit in. It really brought tears to my eyes both times, maybe the 2nd time was even more touching, tearful! Thank You GM & Chevrolet ?

  2. Wow!!!! I lasted until the 1:22 mark before I needed the first Kleenex tissue, and it wasn’t the
last one either needed before the end of the video. Excellent script for a four-minute video, actually better than some sixty-minute stories on TV today.

  3. After 65 years of marriage, my wife passed away–I’m retired from –G.M.—have owned 4 Vettes, currently a C7–she loved them like I did, many trips & memories in all 4—It’s lonely driving the C7 alone—–I just changed my Christmas wreath as he did in the film—great advertisement !!

  4. This is what sets Chevrolet apart from the rest, soul. I own 3 Chevys; Equinox SUV, 2019 Grand Sport Convertible and my high school car a 1966 Chevelle Malibu SS Convertible. I’ve owned Chevs all my life and I think their one of the best companies around period!

  5. My first wife and I enjoyed a ’68 Corvette CV and then a ’70 Mont Carlo. Then she passed many years ago at the young age of 25. Memories will never leave me of our rides together, sun in your face and hair blowing in the wind in that ’68 CV. I’ve always been able to hide the hurt over the years but since watching this video I’ve had to wash the tears off three times. This video stirs the soul, brings back both good memories and a joy of life.
    Thank you GM and Corvette.
