Corvettes on Craiglist: 2020 2LT Corvette Stingray in Black

If you’re jealous or angry about the market adjustment price, keep it to yourself.

That’s the advice from the owner of this black over Sky Cool Gray 2020 Corvette coupe with 1,600 miles that’s currently on the market for $91,000, or some $23,000 over the sticker price.

“Please don’t try to lowball me,” he writes in his 20-day-old craigslist.org listing out of the Minneapolis area. “I’m aware of the upcharge and this is what they are selling for. They are getting 20k over all day long. I know a guy who has sold 5 of them already.”

The car includes the $7,300 2LT package that includes a whole lot of the nice goodies like heated and ventilated seats, rear camera mirror, upgraded 14-speaker Bose stereo, performance data and video recorder, heated steering wheel, head-up display, power-folding mirrors, rear cross-traffic alert, and side blind zone alert.

It’s not a Z51 and doesn’t have the front end lift but does feature the $1,195 Performance Exhaust for another five horsepower and better sound.

It all adds up to a sticker price of $68,490. In addition, the owner says he has installed window tint, 3M clear bra on the full front, and ceramic paint protection at a cost of another $5,000.

He also ordered ground effects, splitter, and high wing spoiler and says “if they come in any time soon,” the price will go up $5,000 more. “Combined they are 6k installed but who knows on a time frame for those,” he says.

The owner has a pragmatic outlook on the sale of the Corvette, saying “if I sell it I sell it! If I don’t, I love the car and you can wait 18 months or more for yours if you are able to get one by then. The 2021s are almost all pre-sold already,” he claims.

His enthusiastic feelings make him another person on the “happy, happy, happy” list of C8 owners, as the guys on Duck Dynasty might say.

“What’s there to say it’s incredible!!!” he says. “Refined and ohhh so fun to drive.”

Then comes the hard sales pitch: “This is your chance to own one! You know how tough they are to get ahold of. And if you don’t know that, then you haven’t tried to find one.”

While acknowledging that his car does have a few miles, he points out that he “took the time to correctly break it in which was really hard to do!! Now you can drive how you wish.”

  1. Called supply and demand. If you need a deal to feel better about yourself, shop for a new Corolla. Or just wait a couple more years for your C8.

  2. What’s up with the white seats and trim? That doesn’t seem to be a combo in much demand. Kinda’ think he’s over reached his target market.

  3. If he can get that much money for it, more power to him. If there is nothing wrong with the car and the fact that the break-in is done, the car is probably valued at 80-90 K, or whatever you can get for it. There is a limited supply and a lot of pent up demand. The high wing spoiler and a different set of wheels would make this machine look Bad A$$. This is exactly the reason that some dealers are adding a premium to the price of the Corvettes that they sell: “The public does it, so why can’t we?”

  4. Ya bs. There are dealers out there that won’t gouge you. Patience is a virtue especially when finding the right Corvette. Took me about a year to find the C6 Grand Sport I wanted. Always trying to scam a buck, kinda why I generally hate people.
