The new 2020 Corvette Stingray Convertible was unveiled among America’s other rockets at the Kennedy Space Center last week and we captured the moment as it happened.
We are still learning all the details possible about the convertible model. One topic we wanted to cover are the various options for the hardtop roof and nacelles, which are offered in three different ways.
The nacelles and roof will be body color by default, or you can select one of the two options to have them painted Carbon Flash (Black). Both options will cost $1,295 for either D84 or D86:
- RPO D84: Carbon Flash-painted Nacelles and Roof
- RPO D86: Carbon Flash-painted Nacelles and Body-Colored Roof
As we mentioned in our fawning love letter to the C8 Convertible, we particularly like the black roof and nacelles with the lighter color exteriors. So much so that where we would have our 2020 Stingray Coupe outfitted in Black, we think the Convertible would look great in Ceramic Matrix Gray with Black Nacelles and Roof.
As we ran through the Corvette visualizer, we used the popular Torch Red to illustrate the three ways the Corvette Stingray Convertible’s Roof and Nacelles can be optioned:
Body Color Nacelles and Roof (Default)
Carbon Flash Nacelles and Roof (D84)
Notice that selecting Carbon Flash for both the roof and nacelles also will have the A-Pillars and windshield surround painted in carbon flash.
Carbon Flash Nacelles and Body Color Roof (D86)
We are still waiting for some additional pricing information. We know that the 1LT Stingray Convertible will start at $67,495 but the 2LT and 3LT will cost $500 less than those on the Stingray Coupe.

Gotta say either all body color, or all carbon flash. Doesn’t look “right” mixing both.
Agree. Also, it is hard to understand why having just the nacelles painted carbon flash costs the same as having the nacelles, roof, and A-pillars/windshield surround all painted carbon flash. For both reasons it seems unlikely that many buyers will choose Option D86.
Body color for me. I would not take black nacelles if they payed me !
