One of our favorite C6 Corvettes that I highlighted in my book Corvette Special Editions are the Competition Sport Racers that were offered just at the great recession was wreaking havoc on the automotive market and as such, only a handful were produced.
The 2009 Competition Sport Corvette package was offered either as a Z51 Coupe or the Z06. Just 72 CSR Corvettes were produced and only 20 of those were Corvette Z06s. Those were further divided between 10 Black and 10 Blade Silver CSRs.
The last of the 20 Competition Sport Z06s is offered for sale this weekend at the Greenboro Auto Auction in North Carolina.
It’s a one-owner car that features all the cool elements that made the CSRs unique including a special edition VIN, corresponding door numbers that are still in the box (This is car #20), Ebony leather seats with the Jake embroidery on the headrests, aluminum race pedals, Competition Gray Aluminum Wheels and a custom engine cover. This Z06 only has 18,611 miles showing the odometer as well!
The owner had some warranty to work done by a Hendrick Chevrolet dealer in 2014 that saw the Z06’s Valves and Valve guides replaced. Other than that the car is being sold as stock with no other modifications.
Mecum had a CSR Z06 offered at their Kissimmee Auction this year where it reached a high bid of $55,000.
This collectible C6 Corvette Z06 CSR will be offered for sale on Saturday at the Greensboro Auto Auction at the Automobile Palace at 301 Norwalk St, Greensboro, NC., 27407. The Greensboro Auto Auction runs July 25-27th. Click here to view the Auction Consignment List.
