Check out this head-turning 1971 Corvette 427 Custom Coupe offered by MS Classic Cars in Seekonk, MA. Inspired by the 1968 Owens-Corning L88 race cars that won at Le Mans, this 1971 Corvette features many of those same elements and more!

The custom Orange ’71 427 Coupe can be yours as it has just been consigned to Barrett-Jackson’s Northeast sale at the end of June where it will be sold at no reserve!

The 71 Coupe went through a comprehensive nut and bolt restoration that saw enhancements to the front nose, hood, rear quarter panels, and the rear end. The headlights were integrated into the body and covered to maintain aerodynamics just like the Owens-Corning racers that reached over 200 mph on the Mulsanne at Le Mans. It features a beautiful coat of PPG’s 2016 Daytona Sunrise Orange with black stripes and the front bumper was converted to body-color fiberglass.

Providing that wonderful stance is a custom C4 suspension with front coil-overs and a rear competition mono leaf springs. The car sits on Team III ET wheels sized 18X10 on the front and 18X12 in the rears and are wrapped with sticky BF Goodrich G-Force Rival tires.

The engine compartment is just as much a show-piece as the rest of the car. A modern-day Blue Print LS3 427 V8 has been installed and is coupled to a Tremec TKO-600 5-speed manual transmission. The Corvette makes 618 hp and dyno sheets come with the car. The engine has been dressed with custom painted Daytona Orange Sunset valve covers that have carbon fiber letter inserts. Black 3.5 inch side pipes with Sweet Thunder free flowing inserts makes sure the car is heard two counties over.

Inside, the cockpit is all business with a completely new interior and dash. The dash, door panels, and center console are wrapped with carbon fiber. Interior upgrades include a 4-point roll bar, Auto Meter Pro-Comp gauges, Ididit steering wheel and column, Corbeau bucket seats, JEGS racing style seat belts and a Vintage Air conditioning system to keep the driver cool when the action gets hot.

This 1971 Corvette 427 Custom Coupe is definitely a street machine to be reckoned with. We expect this will be one of the top restomods sold at Barrett-Jackson’s Northeast sale that runs June 26-29th.

Here’s MS Classic Cars owner Marc Schiliro giving you a complete rundown of the car and then starts it up so you can hear that beautiful 427 V8:
