[VIDEO] Ron Fellows and 20 Corvette ZR1's Roadtrip from Detroit to Spring Mountain

It was a year ago that a group of 20 Corvette ZR1s left Detroit for the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain.

Before Corvettes see action on the track, it’s important they are properly broken in. All Corvettes at Spring Mountain are driven 1,500 miles before they see any track time. And with the drive from Detroit to Pahrump being 2,300 miles, this road trip was a great way to get those miles in.

We heard about this caravan last year and actually posted this report on the ZR1 caravan after photos of the cars traveling down the highway went public.

Corvette Racing ambassador Ron Fellows and his two sons were part of the crew to make the drive and they documented the experience in this fantastic video.

From an April 1st post by Ron Fellows on Facebook:

This is no joke! One year ago we completed a 3 day drive from Detroit, MI to the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School in Pahrump, NV (approximately 2300 miles). My sons Sam & Patrick documented our trip and put together this cool video. Enjoy!

  1. Nice trip….did a cross country in 1967 with my Marine Corps buddy Ron Biesemeyer. He bought a ’66 coupe, I borrowed my dad’s playboy club credit card, and we did an amazing 10 day trip from Long Beach CA to Boston MA and back…visited the Playboy Clubs in Kansas City, New York City, and Boston….unforgettable experience….now proud owner of ’05 C6, Daytona Sunset Orange, 6 speed, Museum Delivery (Nov. 2004) 99,640 miles….almost 100k club. Have loved every minute of owning (and driving) this car….
