Corvettes on Craigslist: 2008 Corvette Z06 with 81 Original Miles

The owner of this 2008 C6 Z06 calls it “No Doubt the Best 2008 Z06 In the World, Period!”

It would be hard to argue with him based on the fact that this very sharp red Corvette with two-tone titanium and black interior has covered just 81 miles – yes, just 81! – and even has the window sticker on the glass!

The seller refers to the car as “Truly a Rocket Ship!”

Sorry about all the exclamation marks, but it isn’t every day that an 11-year-old Corvette shows up on the San Francisco Craigslist with mileage that low!

Sorry, we did it again! OK, we’ll stop with the exclamation marks now.

The Z06, of course, comes with the LS7 427 engine that pumps out 505 horsepower and 470 ft-lb of torque.

This particular example includes the 2LZ package and stickered for $79,000 new.

If you wanted a new C6 Z06 back in the day but couldn’t afford it, this might be your chance to pick one up a little cheaper. You’ll have to decide for yourself whether the asking price of $49,000 is worth it, though look on the bright side and consider that you’re getting a $30,000 discount.

However, unless you run a museum (which this one is said to have come from, though it doesn’t tell which museum), you might want to use the same money to either pick up a nice C7 2016 Sting Ray or a higher-though-still-low-mileage C6 Z06. We found several lower-priced 2008 Zs on Auto Trader, including one that had a clean Carfax and 23,000 miles for just $34,889! You could even throw in a very nice 1981 model if you’re determined to spend $49,000!

There go those exclamation marks again. Sorry!

  1. I can’t think of anybody stupid enough to pay 49K for a car that’s book value is around 36K ,so if somebody hit’s you and totals the car, your out 13 thousand dollars.I dont know why you buy a car and not even drive it and just watch it lose thousands of dollars year after year it doesn’t sound smart to me.

  2. I have to agree with you Bill. That does not make much sense at all. Yes the car is super nice and all. But the reality of it does not add up.
