[VIDEO] Watch this 360-Degree Render of the 2020 Mid-Engine Corvette

We’ve become accustomed to seeing various renders of the upcoming C8 Mid-Engine Corvette but invariably, they are presented as flat 2-D images. One enterprising designer named Bjorn Daniel Svavarsson who goes by the name bdsvavars on the Corvette Forum decided the new C8 Corvette needed more perspective and we are happy to share this rotisserie-style 3-D view of the 2020 Mid-Engine Corvette.

Here is what bdsvavars posted with the video as an explanation to what you are watching:

Here is a 3d visualization of the c8 Corvette I made. I used Photogrammetry on videos of the camouflaged test car to get the proportions as close as possible. I modeled a clean model over the Photogrammetry model to get everything nice and clean but I didn´t include any details like lights mirrors etc… I just wanted to capture the main shapes of the car. There is, of course, some guesswork involved here since the Photogrammetry wasn´t perfect but it should be damn close.

My own opinion is that this is a really good starting point. Now that we have more info about the car from the Nurburgring spy pics including the feature lines on the hood, I hope that Bjorn continues to refine it with those details. There is just something about seeing a Corvette spinning on a pedestal that makes me excited! How about you?

What are your thoughts on his video render of the 2020 Corvette? Let us know in the comments below. Corvette enthusiasts are also talking about this video over at the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com so if you want to jump into the conversation, have at it!

  1. As far as seeing a Corvette on a 360 pedestal…….my first was the Rochester N Y new car show and it was a 63 Split Window……I was 10 yrs old with my best friend staring at it like it was an Area 51 spaceship…..we knew that day that we would both own one someday! His father bought him a 65 in high school….I didn’t own my first one until I was 35……..I’ve owned 41 since. As far as the C8 design represented here in 3D…….its attractive but the front end looks like a County Highway Snow Plow…….the boys on Mound Rd. Better go back to “the drawing board”.
