National Corvette Homecoming Show Cancels the 2018 Event Just Days Before Start

If you are planning on attending the 2018 National Corvette Homecoming in Bowling Green this weekend, we have some bad news. The organizers of the event have announced the 2018 show slated to run from May 31 to June 3 has been canceled.

The announcement was posted on Tuesday on the show’s Facebook page:

ATTENTION: We regret to inform you all but the National Corvette Homecoming Show will be canceled for the 2018 season. Due to unforeseen issues arising; our tent man pulling out of the show (can’t have the show without the tents) and bad weather during the show dates we decided to cancel this year and focus on the 2019 season being the best yet. This pains us deeply but we would rather give the loyal fans an amazing Homecoming and sadly that wasn’t possible this year.

We apologize for any inconvenience, If you have any questions please contact us.

We look forward to seeing you all at our 38th Homecoming in 2019!

For 37 years, the National Corvette Homecoming show has brought Corvette enthusiasts togehter after the Corvette assembly plant moved from St. Louis to Bowling Green just prior to the 1982 model year. The event has been run by Joe and Vera Pruitt since 2001 and after last year’s show, the couple put the event up for sale citing health issues. After several months, Joe announced the show must go on and the 2018 National Corvette Homecoming was scheduled for May 31-June 2nd.

The Corvette Homecoming show was going to return to the Hilton Garden Inn after a move the previous year to the National Corvette Museum. The Chevy Invitational aspect that was added in 2016 has been dropped as the show returns to its Corvette-only roots.

Now that the show has been canceled, the organizers have not yet announced whether or not any registration or vendor fees will be refunded. We suggest you contact the company directly.

If you had plans to be in Bowling Green this weekend, we heard of another show that’s going on just up I65 in Cave City. Details can be found on Facebook.

It’s a shame that the 2018 National Corvette Homecoming show had to be canceled and we hope the organizers are able to regroup and keep it going for 2019 and beyond.

  1. I had a bad feeling about this months ago when I couldn’t get a reply to the email I sent with questions about the event. So glad I canceled my hotel registration and decided not to go. Would have driven all the way across the country for nothing.
