This is one of the more instructive videos I have seen coming out the LA Auto Show reveal of the 2019 Corvette ZR1. Chevrolet design chief Tom Peters does a walk around of both the Coupe and Convertible models and talks about the various design cues and other intricacies regarding Chevrolet’s new 755-hp Corvette.
Some of what you’ll see in this video from Tom Peters:
“This is the most ultimate Corvette personally I’ve ever been involved with and I think in terms of Corvette’s history, it’s the most powerful. And I would say from a design point, it’s the most sculptural, and that being derived from the performance of the vehicle.
You want to have a beautiful car to look at, but we also talk about ‘Hey, what would it be like to wash a vehicle like this.’ That’s part of the enjoyment of having one of these vehicles for your own.
I think in order to translate the passion and energy, the emotion and even the character, we have hand sculptors that work in the clay as well as on the computer that allows us to get these wonderful sections you are looking at right now.”
Good stuff here, so head over to MSN to watch The Drive’s Design Deep Dive: 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with Chevrolet’s head of design Tom Peters.
