The ninth annual Corvettes for Chip makes a move this year to the location where Chip Miller launched his first Corvette show.
Corvettes for Chip – which raises funds for the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation – will be held at the Carlisle Expo Center, 100 K St., Carlisle, Pa., on Nov. 5.
“The Corvettes for Chip event is always a blast and I’m honored to be a part of it each year,” Lance Miller, Chip’s son and co-owner of Carlisle Events, said in a news release. “I’m really excited that the event will be hosted in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, this year.”
Chip staged his first Corvette gathering in Carlisle, helping establish what has come to be known as Carlisle Events as a big-name host of car shows for various brands.
This year’s event begins at 10:30 a.m., and includes an auction/raffle and “Start Your Engines” at noon as a tribute to Chip. An awards ceremony closes the show at 2 p.m.
“I know my father will certainly be smiling down upon us,” Lance said. “It’s wonderful knowing he’s still making an impact today, 13 years after his passing.”
The show benefits the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation that was formed to raise funds for the research, education, and awareness of amyloidosis and related diseases.
The mission of the foundation is to empower people with the knowledge and understanding of amyloidosis for earlier detection, ensuring a better quality of life for those afflicted with the disease and to help science find the cures.
In the first eight years, the show has raised more than $85,000 for the foundation.
