[STOLEN] Owner's Keys Allow Quick Getaway for a Thief in a 1977 Corvette

The owner of a white 1977 Corvette found out the hard way about the dangers of leaving the keys inside the vehicle when you’re not around.

A surveillance camera captured the car minutes before it was stolen, as well as the prime suspect in the theft who is wearing a No. 21 or No. 27 jersey, but if someone can identify the man from that grainy photo, it would appear to be a miracle.

Ironically, the owner of the Corvette left the keys in his car while he was visiting his insurance agent in Springfield, Tenn., about 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Detective Rickie Morris told Smokey Barn News that the suspect was seen walking around the Robertson County Courthouse. When he came upon the Corvette, the temptation apparently was too much for the man, who drove off in the sports car.

The car will look similar to the white 1977 Corvette pictured above.

Anyone who may have seen the car or can identify the suspect is asked to contact the Robertson County Dispatch Center at 615-384-4911.
