[VIDEO] Mashable Features a Superformance 1965 Corvette Grand Sport

Mashable is a social media/tech website that we’ve enjoyed for years. So it was kind of a treat to see our two worlds collide when a video review went up on the site featuring a 1965 Corvette Grand Sport from Superformance and our friends at Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.

The good news is that this is your father’s Grand Sport. It’s a certified continuation of the original car. Mashable.com’s Nick Jaynes calls it a “1965 Corvette racecar built in 2016.”

A federal law was recently passed to allow it possible for low-volume motor vehicle manufacturers to offer new, turn-key renditions of classic cars within certain guidelines.

Superformance offers the Corvette Grand Sport in either Coupe or Roadster body style and the car comes a factory assembled rolling chassis ready for your choice of up to eight different engines. The power plants range from a modern version of the original all aluminum 377 ci small block with weber cross ram intakes or one of seven other choices from GM Performance Parts including the supercharged LS9. So you can make it whatever you want it to be

The Superformance Corvette Grand Sport driven by Mashable costs $164,000 but as he says, it’s totally worth it! “Driving this car in full throttle, is like riding the devil straight to hell, ” Jaynes said and then adds, “You know it’s so so wrong, but you love every damn second of it.”
