No doubt plenty of classic C3 Stingrays and C2 Sting Rays will be on sale at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson auction.
But in case history isn’t your best subject, this one-of-a-kind custom C7 widebody Stingray might be just the ticket for you.
The first thing you’ll probably notice about this brand new 2014 3LT convertible (with just 350 miles on the odometer) is the custom Grabber Blue paint that features six coats of clear, wet-and buffed to an create unbelievably mirror-like finish.
Or you might notice the custom wide-body kit that widened the rear of this Corvette by 12 inches and the front by eight inches. The Stingray leaves the factory in Bowling Green with some pretty tight-fitting body panels, but the panels on the car were refitted to make all the gaps perfect. Add in handmade carbon-fiber lower valances, a spoiler, a one-off handmade grill, and LED custom running lights, and you’ve definitely got one sick Corvette.
Your eyes might turn next to the one-off custom 22-inch Forgiato wheels painted the same shade of blue as the car, covered by Pirelli P Zero, Z-rated performance tires. Raising the hood, you’ll find that the already-impressive factory LT1 engine has been pushed to 700 horsepower, thanks to an Edelbrock E-Force Stage 2 supercharger, cold-air intake, custom Magnaflow multimode performance exhaust system, and a custom tune and program.
We would have preferred the seven-speed manual or the new eight-speed automatic transmission hooked to that powerplant, but they stuck with the original GM six-speed automatic offered in 2014.
The Forgiato Widebody 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible will be up for auction at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale as Lot # 1283, set for Jan. 23-31.
