Some people who aren’t sure about the practicality of their Corvette try to make it more suitable for everyday driving.
Maybe they’d be the perfect customer for this 1976 Corvette that’s been expanded with a Can Am wagon conversion, currently for sale on eBay for $14,900.
So far, no one has placed a bid on Greenwood Sport Wagon, despite the owner’s claim that the conversion was done “very well” in the late ’70s, including a tilting front end with Corvette Summer hood and opening rear window with electric release.
Originally modded in California (where else?), the car still runs and drives great, the seller says.
Features include glass T-tops, true spoke wire wheels, 350 V8, automatic transmission, power windows, tilt-tele steering column, ’60s-style sidepipes, and air conditioning (though the compressor is gone).
The custom interior, done at the same time, includes a back seat that covers storage compartments.
It’s not show-car quality – the seller calls it a “good 10 footer” – but the car still attracts attention wherever it goes, he says.
“People always stop and take pictures when the car is parked somewhere,” he says, noting that the car “needs a little TLC, but it is an amazing example of the 70s.”
Couldn’t you just see John Travolta climbing out of this car and prancing up the street, with “Staying Alive” playing in the background?
