It’s Woodward Dream Cruise week in the Motor City which means that there’s a myriad of activities for enthusiasts to partake in. Each year Vette-a-holics revel in 3 days of events that make up Corvettes on Woodward. This year organizer Larry Courtney has assembled 3 full days and 7 different events for participants.
The highlight of Corvettes on Woodward is the Wednesday night cruise down world famous Woodward Avenue in support of the Open Hands Food Pantry in Royal Oak, MI. The event now consistently draws over 500 Corvettes each year to The Kingsley Inn in Bloomfield Hills for staging. From there it’s about 5 miles of cruising south to drop off the generous food and cash donations.
The $10 donation nets you five tickets for door prizes. 30 additional tickets can be had 5 bucks. Russ Field photography will be capturing cars from 12pm-3pm. Vendor displays this year will include Corvette Central, Galli Sports Apparel, Cruis’News, Pratt and Miller, and Official Woodward Dream Cruise merchandise. Tunes will be provided by DJ Eric and the Kingsley Inn will have food available for purchase. A Corvette generations display will feature Corvettes from each of Corvette’s 7 design iterations. Corvettes on Woodward T-shirts will be available for purchase for $15.
This year there are 7 events and tours in addition to the largest “1-day” car event in the world to keep you occupied. Here’s the agenda for this week:
