Say the name of Caravaggio to those Corvette owners in the know and immediately visions of handcrafted leather seats and D-shaped steering wheels come to mind. But John Caravaggio’s shop is capable of transforming an entire Corvette inside and out and he recently showed off his latest work on a customer’s C7 Corvette Z06 Convertible.
The Corvette Z06 features upgrades all around. Starting under the hood, an E-Force Supercharger as well as headers were added, and Katech supplied the ported heads and a upgraded cam. To accommodate the new supercharger, Caravaggio supplied their own Z06 hood and a “big mouth” vent.
The exterior was repainted in what Caravaggio calls Ferrari Avorio which appears off-white or as a very light almond. The Z06’s hood bulge is painted a matte black and matches the matte black stage 2 aero kit and mirrors.
While the new exterior changes helps transform the car into a Euro-styled grand touring convertible, it’s the luxurious interior that really makes you want to hit the road. The Z06 received a full leather interior upgrade with the Competition Sport Seats getting a brownstone/creme makeover in the same vein as the interior design of the Ferrari 599 Aperta. Carbon fiber adorns the interior with the dash, air condition vents, seats and door handles while matching Alcantara carpet replaced the standard Z06 floor covering.
Comments about his latest work on this Corvette Z06 on the forum are very positive with one member calling Caravaggio the “Michelangelo of Corvette interiors”. Click here to read more comments about this project on the Corvette Forum.
