Normally our custom aftermarket wheels posts usually consist of new Corvette Stingrays and Z06s wearing new wheels. Just last week we shared an Arctic White Corvette Z06 wearing ADV.1s from Wheels Boutique. Here’s another entry from the wheels outfitter, but this gallery features an early Corvette with a set of HRE wheels.
When a early Corvette is reborn as a restored, the general consensus is that the owner or buyer wanted the the dependability and performance of a late model Corvette with the iconic looks of a classic Corvette. And with modern running gear under the car, that opens up the possibilities of adding aftermarket wheels on the car to make it look just right.
This restored 1962 Corvette has been restomoded but details of what’s under the hood have been omitted since the focus is undoubtedly on the wheels. We’ll just assume there’s an LS V8 engine under the hood. We do see the Corvette has been equipped with modern brakes with red brake calipers and the Corvette has a custom exhaust system.
But its the wheels that have us salivating.
The brushed dark silver rims are HRE’s R101 design. With the Corvette having been lowered, the alloy R101s fit snuggly inside the wheel wells of the classic Corvette and the restomod’s stance looks great for a 60 year old car.
Check out these great pictures of a restomod wearing HRE R101 Wheels:
