Corvette Auction Preview: 2013 Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach

The Barrett-Jackson 2013 tour makes its annual spring stop in South Florida this Thursday through Saturday. If you didn’t discover a Corvette in your Easter basket last weekend you’ve got a chance to score one of the no reserve offerings available in Palm Beach. SPEED will air 18.5 hours of live TV coverage with additional Saturday coverage available via SPEED.com and some regional Fox Sports Networks.

The MA HREF=”http://www.barrett-jackson.com/palmbeach/schedule/”>2013 Palm Beach auction currently has 33 Corvettes on the 3-day docket. All are available at no reserve. The top selling Corvette of the weekend is likely to be the first retail production 2014 Stingray convertible we told you about back in February. We imagine Rick Hendrick will be looking to add this one to his collection to park next to the very first retail production 2014 Corvette he bought back in January.

Several Corvettes with celebrity ties will be crossing the block this weekend as well including Dinah Shore’s C4, a 1990 ZR-1 once owned by Mid America’s Mike Yager, and a 1959 used in Brad Paisley’s “Old Alabama” music video. In addition, bidders can compete for a rare 1996 red interior Grand Sport convertible, a 1970 big block out of the Hendrick Collection, and a NCRS Top Flight 1960 big brake fuelie.

If those aren’t enough to get your checkbook salivating, here’s a closer look at a hat trick of 1965 Corvette convertibles eagerly awaiting your bid at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach.

Lot 765 – 1965 Blue Fuelie Convertible:
An interesting car with an interesting history. The Nassau Blue on Blue/White roadster was stolen in 1967 and later recovered before it was stripped. Only the VIN and trim tags were removed by the thieves. The owner decided to take the insurance payout the while the company obtained new VIN and trim tags for the car. All of the trim tag documentation goes with the car. Today the car still sports the 375hp fuel injected motor, two tops, power windows, transistor ignition, off-road exhaust, knock-offs, teak wheel, and telescopic steering column.. It claims NCRS Top Flight, Performance Verification, and Duntov honors on its resume.

This stunning black/silver convertible features the 365hp motor, A/C, 4-speed transmission, transistor ignition, both hard and soft tops, power windows, and power brakes. Like the blue fuelie above, this C2 has also claimed multiple NCRS Top Flights (96-98%), Performance Verification, and Duntov awards as well.
