2010 SEMA: 2011 Corvette Z06X Concept

Corvette Racing’s now ubiquitous mascot Jake is sooo huge, Corvette owners will turn to Genuine Corvette Accessories to create their Jake special editions. That’s the thinking by GM with the release of the 2011 Corvette Jake Edition Concept which showcases many new GCA accessories featuring the factory race team’s icon.

Like last year’s 2010 Grand Sport that showcased the parts and accessories available through any Chevrolet dealer’s parts department, the 2011 Jake Edition is a showcase Corvette Grand Sport with Z06 wheels in Competition Gray finish. The Jake hood graphic featured on the 2009 GT1 ALMS Championship Edition is on the hood as well as the black Jake badge replacing the Grand Sport’s chrome badge.

Some of the accessories are not yet available, hence the concept name. Coming soon are Jake-logo floor mats, console lid and wheel center caps.

“Jake is more than the mascot for Corvette Racing, he personifies the Corvette spirit,” said Dave Ross, design manager. “We designed this concept to demonstrate how any enthusiast could create his own Jake special model with parts available from any Chevrolet dealership.”

“The Corvette has long inspired car enthusiasts to personalize it. The Jake concept shows one very unique way to do it,” said Ross. “With the great variety of accessories and other parts available, there’s virtually no limit to how you can make your Corvette stand apart from all others.”

  1. Wow… it’s a great idea, but GM’s press guys should proof-read their info. The pictures show yellow stitching not titanium and they contradict within a few sentences… 1st saying it’s a convertible and then a coupe.

But yeah, nice to see GM making this available to everyone.

  2. Once again…I don’t want a bunch of stickers to put on my car and could give a flying rat’s ass less about this crap-show us the C7 or is all the genious at GM being used to come up with the next set of stickers…the Z06X on the other hand is right on the money.

  3. I really like the Jake Edition Concept. I wish they would include a two-tone interior of ebony/titanium as that would match up with the mostly gray stripe. In regards to the strip I sure which they would extend the stripe from the spoiler down the back end of the corvette. Otherwise it is not noticeable and then why have the darn thing added in the first place.

  4. From my last basic comment about the stripe, can someone tell me why, to the best of my memory, I have never seen Chevy corvettes with the stripe drawn all the way down the back end? Is a tradition not to or ….?
