Now that GM has another pop-culture hit on its hands with Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we are eagerly looking forward to the next movie to feature gratuitous product placement from Chevrolet and GM. Luckily, we won’t have to wait long as the 4th installment of the Transformers movie series is “primed” to hit theaters on June 27th.
Filmmaker Michael Bay and his cadre of automotive robots was back in the Motor City last week as a portion of the city was turned into an Asian Metropolis for a scene in the fourth installment of Transformers.
The Green and Black “Race-Inspired” C7 Corvette Stingray was there (actually there were two C7 Stingrays on the set), the yellow Camaro known as Bumble Bee, the black and blue Bugatti and the Western Star Semi Truck that is Optimus Prime.
It was only last month that we found out that there was another installment of Michael Bay’s Transformers in the making with a whole new fleet of cars including the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
The Green and Black “Race Inspired” 2014 Corvette Stingray was spotted on the Transformers 4 set somewhere around Adrian, Michigan.
If you’re a big fan of the Transformers Corvette Stingray Coupe revealed in Chicago back in 2009, we have some good news and some bad news for you.
The bad news is that you can’t buy that particular car.
The good news is that apparently someone in Georgia liked the Stingray concept car so much that they went out and made one of their own – sort of.
We were very surprised to learn that the 4th installment of the “Transformers” movie franchise from Director Michael Bay has started filming out in Monument Valley near the borders of Arizona and Utah. Joining the cast of cars to be featured in the movie is the 2014 Corvette Stingray.

Chevy put out this brief preview of the Autobots that are featured in the next installment of the Transformers movie franchise. Sideswipe, the autobot that reverts to the Stingray Corvette concept is featured prominently in the preview.
For the second month in a row, Car and Driver magazine has an update on the C7 Corvette, but this one landed on the cover. Titled “25 Cars Worth Waiting For”, the cover shot features a rendering of the 2013 Chevy Corvette C7 along with the 2012 Camaro ZL1 and the 2012 Porsche 911. But its the other picture in the article that has many a Corvette enthusiast commenting.
The third and final installment of the Transformers movie franchise is slated to debut the summer of 2011. The new movie is officially titled The Dark of the Moon and the Corvette Stingray Concept will return as a convertible model for its role as the Autobot Sideswipe. As the movie shooting continues across the country, we occasionally get looks at the new Corvette Stingray Concept as well as the other cars in the movie.
By now, most of you should be familiar with the Corvette Stingray Concept that was featured in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Last year the Stingray Concept hit the car show circuit which allowed the public the opportunity to take in the sleek, futuristic Corvette. Great, except for some reason it skipped the show in my hometown of Tampa. So when I saw it featured in an advertisement this weekend, I headed to the Convention center for my first opportunity to get up close and personal with Chevy’s popular Corvette concept.
