Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance has been busy tweeking the new C7 Corvette Stingray over the last year with various packages designed to increase performance of the new sports car. Now that the 2015 model is out, Hennessey recently showed off the performance characteristics of its supercharged HPE700 package on a Corvette Stingray equipped with the new potent 8-speed automatic transmission.
Most of us will never have the chance to drive, much less own, a supercar like the 2014 Hennessey Performance HPE650 supercharged Stingray or the upcoming 2015 Corvette Z06.
But while we’re dreaming, let’s go ahead and compare what we know about these two dream cars and try to come up with a conclusion about which one we’d take.
If you want exclusivity, then the Hennessey might be your best option. Only 100 of the cars will be produced, and with an engine tune that cranks out 650 horsepower – 25 more than expected in the Z06, the Hennessey definitely will have its fans.

Texas tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering is known for their performance packages that substantially increase the power of GM and other American-built cars and trucks. Right after the initial introduction of the Corvette ZR1, HPE came out with their ZR700 package which boosted the ZR1′s horsepower to 705. Hennessey also offers the ZR750 package which brings the power on tap to 755-ponies, a ground-pounding 728 pounds-feet of torque and a top speed in excess of 224 mph!
