Last week kicked off a series called On the Campaign Trail where I’ll be sharing my experiences with my 72 Corvette as I run it through NCRS, Bloomington Gold, and MCACN judging this year. Now that you know what I’ve got, we’ll look at what it took to get it ready for the judges. Rather than focus on all the individual tasks needed to prepare my car, this week I’ll mainly walk through some higher-level judging prep and sprinkle in some details throughout.
Striking silver with red and black markings highlight Chevrolet Redline series
DETROIT (Nov. 1, 2018) – Chevrolet revealed today the Redline livery that the No. 64 Redline/Mobil 1 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R will feature when it races in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s upcoming round in China.
We’re hanging out tonight with the kids and might even fire up a classic holiday cartoon like “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”.
And speaking of Great Pumpkins, check out this 2019 Corvette ZR1 in Sebring Orange mixed in with the spooky decorations. This pumpkin Corvette is owned by Chris B. of Soledad, California and was purchased new from our friend Mike Furman @ Criswell Chevrolet.

Everything doesn’t always go according to script, and the Formula 1 US Grand Prix on Sunday, October 21, was not exempt. Points leader, Lewis Hamilton, having won five of the last six F1 races at the Circuit of the Americas, was the odds-on favorite to win the race and lock up his fifth World Champion title. Neither was to happen, at least not on this particular F1 race day in Austin, Texas. But it wasn’t the only thing on the track that day that didn’t exactly go according to plan, which is where this story makes a sudden hairpin turn into a story about 19 vintage Corvettes.
Having two project cars going at the same time is a little much, so the owner of this 1965 Corvette convertible barn find is putting it up for sale.
He’s decided to try and sell “Barny the Project Car” and put his sole focus on “Old Blue” because he has “too many fond memories” restoring it with his family.
The seller came across “Barny” in a Wisconsin barn a few months ago, ending a hibernation that began 40 years ago.

A number of talented designers have been working on renders of the C8 Mid engine Corvette and we’ve been sharing some of the better designs we’ve come across here. Of course you’ve seen multiple FVS renders and the yellow C8 from our friends at ACS Composite, both of whom we found at the Mid Engine Corvette Forum.
Joining this cadre of designers is “Chazcron” who’s been diligently working on a new 3D render. Normally we would wait until the the work is finished and presented as such, but his design is really coming along based on the teaser above. We liked the side coves with the black cover especially and wanted to get your opinion on it.
On the eve of the start of the weeklong aftermarket festival know as the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Chevrolet’s Jim Campbell celebrated the 50th anniversary of the original COPO Camaro by introducing the eCOPO Camaro Concept – the company’s first drag racing electric vehicle.
