1963 Corvette Fuelie

A much anticipated diversion from reality comes next week in the form of the world’s greatest collector car auction. The 38th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car auction in Scottsdale, AZ kicks off on Tuesday for six full days of buying and selling classic and unique Corvettes. Over 125 Corvettes are expected to cross the no-reserve auction block with models ranging from a 1954 Roadster to the 2009 Corvette ZR1.

The auction line-up appears to be very solid. The Corvettes coming from the GM Heritage Collection are simply unbelievable. We see several unique C4 ZR-1 models that should see plenty of action from collectors as well as the 2008 Corvette ZR1 chassis. We also noticed a bevy of C1 and C2 fuelies which have a history of doing well here in Scottsdale.

Headlining the group is a 1967 Corvette convertible (Lot #1327) that features a 427/435 engine and the Lyndale Blue over Black color combination. Fully restored in 2008, the roadster captured two NCRS Top Flight Awards with a high score of 97.7.

Another highlight will be a 1963 Corvette coupe (Lot #1263.1) with a list of options. Honors for this 327 ci 360 horsepower split-window Fuelie include Bloomington Gold, 2-time NCRS Top Flight Award and a Duntov Mark of Excellence Award.

With so many Corvettes crossing the block that claim a NCRS pedigree, it’s reassuring to hear that the NCRS worked with the Barrett-Jackson consignment team to verify the awards and scores. The 16 Corvettes in this year’s auction have been vetted so to speak by the NCRS with the consignment team acquiring the NCRS Award Confirmation Document for each car.

Click here for the 2009 Barrett-Jackson Corvette Schedule. We’ve broken it down so you can see which day the Corvette will be sold. Each of the GM Heritage Collection Corvettes are marked with an asterick (*) as they are spread out across all six days. As always, check back throughout the week as we’ll have coverage and videos of selected Corvettes that were sold.

SPEED TV will be providing 39 hours of live gavel coverage beginning Tuesday, January 13th. Here is the broadcast schedule:

  1. Thanks for the work to create the listing and sorting by dates – I’ll definitely tune in.

I’d not over emphasize the work that B-J & NCRS did in vetting all the info… The first entry I looked at specified Original Factory 327 cid/325 Hp motor… Maybe a typo for 327/375 Hp Fuel Injected Motor but the Photo shows original looking 327 / 350 Carburated set-up…
Nice car but the info isn’t right.
