Corvette sales have historically done well in the Middle East so it’s no surprise that a contingent of Grand Sport Collector Editions will soon be available in the region.
Chevrolet announced nearly a year ago that availability of the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Collector Edition, wearing Watkins Glen Gray with Black stripe, Blue hashmarks and the stunning Tension Blue interior.
A total of 1,000 Collector Editions are planned, with 850 staying in the US while 150 will be exported. GM Middle East has confirmed that 30 Grand Sport Collector Editions are headed to dealers there.
The Grand Sport, powered by 460 horsepower LT1 V8, hits that sweetspot between the entry level Corvette Stingray and the widebody aerodynamics of the Corvette Z06. The Grand Sport is capable of 3.6 second sprints from 0 to 60 mph and with the optional Z07 Performance package, a 1.2g cornering capability!
“Corvette is one of those legendary cars that is extremely popular here in the region as it continues to be one of the most advanced sports cars,” said Abdallah Madhoun, Regional Sales and Marketing Manager for Chevrolet, GM Middle East. “The 2017 Grand Sport takes track-bred technology to a new, exciting street legal threshold. With its arrival, the Corvette range offers a spectrum of high performance at price points that suit even the most demanding inner race car drivers.”
It was recently announced that five Grand Sport Collector Edition Coupes would be exported to Japan.
