It occurred to me this morning after watching this presentation of the 2019 Corvette ZR1 at the LA Auto Show that it was one year ago today that I flew to LA for a one-day stay to see the new Corvette for the first time. The trip, dubbed BONZAI Run to the ZR1 was definitely an experience to remember as about 30 Corvette enthusiasts from all parts of the USA and Canada met for a day of ZR1 fun at the auto show.
I’ve been a member of the Corvette Forum for over 15 years now and while I’m not a huge participant in forum conversations, I have learned a few things over the years about those that join the forum. There is something about a person’s first post that is noteworthy. Did you join because you have a question or problem you are trying to solve? Maybe you are an owner or future owner wanting to learn more. You could be a fan of another make/model and you want to troll some Corvette owners? Maybe you know something about the future Corvette and you just need to get it off your chest.
That last reason is what we are discussing tonight. A first-time poster on the Corvette Forum named unlimitedPower has posted a thread called “Corvette Manta Ray: GM’s Bold New Plan” and it has really raised a lot of eyebrows from those that have been following the development of the C8 mid-engine Corvette.
There is now less than a month before the 2018 Corvette Dream Giveaway comes to an end and another winner is announced. Now through the end of the year, a donation of $25 or more will double your amount of tickets! And that means double your chances to win the 1965 Lingenfelter Corvette Sting Ray Restomod and the 2018 Lingenfelter Corvette Grand Sport, plus $50,000 to pay the taxes!
With the start of the new month, Chevrolet is now promoting its “Employee Discount for Everyone” program, citing “The Chevy price you pay is what we pay. Not a cent more.”
At least six 1963 Corvette split-window coupes will be on the block in January at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Not the least of which is this custom splitter magnificently done by Jeff Hayes and American Speed Shop.

Back in August, we remembered seeing a video from Hennessey Performance showing a top speed run of a bone stock 2019 Corvette ZR1 running 0-193 mph. That White ZR1 has since been upgraded with the HPE850 package where it now makes 710 RWHP compared to its previous stock dyno of 654 RWHP.
To compare the performance of the new HPE850 ZR1, Hennessey brought out another stock Corvette ZR1 with the ZTK package and lined them up on the drag strip where the two did some roll and dig races against each other.
