Over the last few days we’ve been following the exploits of GM World Class Technician Paul Koerner of Key Chevrolet in Middletown, CT., who has been up to his elbows in this leaky drivetrain on a 1999 C5 Corvette.
A couple weeks back, our friend Mike Furman of Criswell Chevrolet took the ZR1 Owners School at Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club in Pahrump, Nevada with 12 of his ZR1 customers. The owner of this 2017 Corvette Grand Sport 2LT probably wishes his accident was just a bad April Fool’s joke.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case.
One of the seemingly important equipment requirements for the C8 mid-engine Corvette has been the inclusion of a dual-clutch transmission and with the release of RPO data from the GM order workbench a couple weeks back, we learned that an 8-speed automatic DCT is the only transmission available.

On Saturday morning before the green flag of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, Harlan spoke to the Corvette enthusiasts gathered in the Corvette Corral tent. Harlan was also joined by Wendy Miller who is a GM forecaster for the Corvette brand.
