Plenty of dollars have flowed into this 1967 Corvette Sting Ray convertible, and it shows.
From its Marina Blue paint and Bright Blue interior to the 427 under the hood, five-speed transmission and modern upgrades underneath, this is one C2 that wasn’t rebuilt simply to sit around and look pretty.
It was built to drive, which means it’s not a perfect garage queen, if that’s what you’re after.
Regardless, now it’s back on Bring a Trailer, the same auction site where its current owner acquired it in October 2024. At last check, bidding had reached $51,000 with six days remaining, and this time it’s being offered at no reserve.
And whoever wins it will be getting considerably more than just the car.
The Corvette has undergone extensive work over the years, including a body-off refinishing in its factory-correct Marina Blue. The Bright Blue cabin was also redone, matching the combination indicated by the car’s trim and paint codes.
Visually, it’s hard to argue with the result. This is one beautiful classic.
The black convertible top contrasts beautifully with the blue body, while the classic C2 features that get our blood boiling remain — retractable headlights, split chrome bumperettes, fender vents and that unmistakable 1967 Corvette profile.
But look a little closer and it becomes obvious this isn’t a stock restoration.
Staggered 18- and 19-inch five-spoke wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires give it a more aggressive stance. Behind them are Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners.
Then there are those side pipes.
A big-block Corvette with side exhaust already has plenty of attitude. This one has the hardware to back up the appearance.
Under the hood is a 427 crate V8 installed in 2022. It originally used a Holley electronic fuel-injection setup, but more than $20,000 worth of additional work performed in 2025 included upgrading to a Holley Terminator X Max Stealth EFI system.
The coil packs and spark plugs were relocated, the alternator rebuilt, and the water pump and thermostat replaced. An aluminum radiator, headers and Milodon oil pan are also part of the package.
And rather than sending that power through an old automatic, the 427 is hooked to a five-speed manual transmission.
That’s a combination I’d certainly like to try.
The modernization continues inside. Dakota Digital RTX gauges were installed in June 2025, while the car also has air conditioning, power windows, remote-controlled door locks and an aftermarket steering wheel.
There’s even a Custom Autosound stereo and CD player, although the sound system has been disconnected because of a parasitic electrical draw. Personally, with a 427 breathing through side pipes just a few inches from your ears, I’m not sure how much I’d miss the stereo.
One of the most interesting things about this Corvette, however, is what comes with it.
The removed engine and transmission are included in the sale, along with spare parts and service records. That’s a nice bonus for the next owner, particularly with a heavily modified classic where having the original or previously removed components can add considerable appeal.
The trim tag also tells us how the Corvette began life. It was built Feb. 17 as a 1967 convertible, with Bright Blue vinyl upholstery and Marina Blue paint. So while plenty has changed mechanically, its striking blue-on-blue appearance remains true to its roots.
There are a few imperfections. A commenter noticed what appears to be a blemish or crack in the black hood stripe, which the seller acknowledged. The seller also confirmed that the air conditioning functions and that the car has power brakes.
But nobody is going to mistake this for an untouched survivor.
It’s a restomod — and an expensive one.
One Bring a Trailer commenter summed it up in three words: “No expense spared.”
Looking through the list of upgrades, it’s easy to see why.
The question now is how much of that investment the seller will get back when the hammer falls.
At $51,000 with nearly a week remaining and no reserve, there’s still plenty of time for bidders to decide what a Marina Blue ’67 with a 427, five gears and a long list of modern conveniences is worth.
One thing is certain: The next owner won’t have to spend years building his dream C2.
Someone has already written those checks.
