Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.
Thanks for joining us on this great Sunday. Mike has another great round of delivery photos he has posted throughout the week and his collection of throwbacks and vintage pics are outstanding. As today is the running of the 109th Indianapolis 500, my favorite pic for the week is a group shop of former Indy Pace Cars under the Gasoline Alley sign at IMS. Will you be watching the ZR1 pace the Greatest Spectacle in Racing? Let us know in the comments below!
You can see all of Mike’s posts and pictures through the week on his CorvetteFurman Facebook Page.
~I always say everyday is a Corvette show here at Criswell Chevrolet of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Not only do we have Corvettes on the showroom floor and our inventory lot…but Sean drove 45 miles down from Westminster with his prized Sebring Silver 1963 Corvette Convertible to see the Criswell service team about a new battery for the 63 and he ordered an extra set of new tires for his C8 Z06.
~Kudos to the National Corvette Museum!
**The National Corvette Museum is proud to support those who serve. As a participating Blue Star Museum in 2025, we’re offering free general admission to active-duty U.S. military personnel and up to five family members from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day. Simply present a valid active-duty military ID upon arrival. This November, all U.S. military veterans are invited to enjoy free general admission throughout the entire month. Bring your proof of service and experience the legacy of America’s Sports Car.

~1957 Chevrolet Corvette in Venetian Red advertisement pictures uncirculated. 6,339 Corvettes built that year. My Father in law owned vin 0280.
~Imagine being the 2nd owner of a special factory order for the long time executive secretary of Zora Arkus Duntov…I purchased this many years ago, my 5th C4 of the 27 Corvettes that I’ve owned. It was Medium Blue metallic w/ Blue Sport leather 1988 Corvette coupe from a Michigan family and it was built in Bowling Green and then sent to the CPC Group Engineering Garage in Warren, Michigan. Literally signed off by Zora Duntov on the plenum as the picture depicts. This Blue/Blue 1988 Corvette was by far the quickest 1984-1989 C4 that I ever drove so I’m pretty sure Zora had a hand in having the drivetrain “tweaked”. I’ve never seen another C4 Corvette sent directly to the Engineering Garage in Warren, MI as the normal path is directly to a Chevrolet dealership or the Corvette Museum. She showed it at many of the special GM events held in Warren, MI and those pictures that her husband shared with me were cool to see the other rides of the other GM employees. I will share them another time for another story.
~Sad that John Morris, the owner of Spring Mountain racetrack passed away last week. Last Month I spent a week in Pahrump and enjoyed our daily breakfasts together. He even gave me a signed copy of his book that came out that week.
C8 Corvette Deliveries for the week!
~Nathan L. of Hazelton, Pennsylvania was referred to me by another PA customer as he was seeking a new 2025 Convertible. I had a Black Corvette arrive yesterday and I had already given him a sight unseen trade in value for his 2023 Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe. Appt was made for today and he was in and out in under 30 minutes. Nathan was thrilled to get back on the road for a quick 3 hour ride home. Equipment: 2LT, GT2 buckets, front lift, performance exhaust, gloss black wheels and low rear spoiler.
~Jon B. of Reisterstown, Maryland was referred to me and he placed his order for a Competition Yellow C8 to match his Yellow C6 in his garage. Yesterday Jon and his wife had the red carpet rolled out at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Equipment: 2LT, GT2 buckets, transparent top, front lift, magnetic ride, Z51, bright machine faced wheels, Stingray R pkg, silver fender hash stripe, composite rockers, 2 tone Natural/black seats, Carbon flash painted high wing spoiler and more.
The photos are now supplied to me by Fotofx, a company that has been working within the Museum for the past 10+ years and now they have pkgs available for a truly special experience to be captured digitally.
~This week’s Corvette Barn finds and throwback pictures from around the globe!
