The Corvette Assembly Plant is getting ready for the Caravan and the NCM 30th Anniversary Celebration with a Competition Yellow 2025 Corvette ZR1 parked on the display out front, flanked by a Z06 and a Stingray!
Our friend Garry shared the photo with us and on second look, it just so happens we noticed that this ZR1 Coupe is wearing a set of wheels on it that we haven’t seen before. Update: These look like the Carbon Flash painted ZR1 Carbon Fiber wheels…my mistake and thanks to Earl for setting me straight.
Here’s a closer look at these Black wheels:
Chevrolet introduced the 2025 Corvette Z06 with two new wheels – visible carbon fiber and the more complex alloy design in four finishes including Edge Blue:

Why no Chrome or at least silver?
Those are clearly the carbon wheels, and you can see the white barrels. Carbon in the shade of grainy photos can look like gloss black. I don’t think this set is painted carbon flash.
This car has the dive planes but no front splitter. Must be on constraint. If so Chevy still built the car with a constraint knowing full well it can be added later if needed or wanted. So my question is why can’t / don’t they do the same for customers cars?????????????????
Why would anyone get carbon fiber that are painted? Cheaper to have extra work…ie paint. Makes me think sets of wheels have a weave pattern problem so they paint then and give a discount as “seconds”. I still want to know why parts are not able to be produced resulting in these contraints. Covid?…not likely. Who is it that can’t get it together?
