[VIDEO] StreetSpeed 717 Takes Delivery of TJ Hunt's 2023 Corvette Z06, Avoids Dreaded Warranty Loss

Demand for the 2023 Corvette Z06 is so high that people are willing to hand over huge sums of cash to get one. We watched last week as the Stradman turned down $110K over MSRP ($283K) to sell his after only two days of ownership with his car. We now have our first example of a Corvette Z06 changing hands, and the new owner will still get the warranty.

Of course, this interesting situation features YouTubers as the main players. TJ Hunt had custom ordered VIN #030, an Accelerate Yellow Coupe with all the options that totaled $173K and would have cost him $191K to bring it home. He explains in this video posted early Sunday evening that he was focused on another vehicle project for his channel and both the timing and costs caused him to reconsider. TJ called Whitmoyer Chevrolet’s Matt Beaver and explained that he had to give up his allocation.

“I literally thought it was a prank,” said Matt “And then he kept going on and on, and I realized he’s for real.”

Matt has sold multiple Corvettes to Mike Hyssong aka StreetSpeed 717 over the years, and Mike was actually first on Matt’s Z06 list to get an allocation but was passed over by VIP buyers TJ Hunt, the Stradman, and Emelia Hartford. Once TJ backed out of the deal, Matt made the call to StreetSpeed, asking him if he was “ready to buy a Z06?”

Because TJ never got to the paperwork stage, Mike officially becomes the car’s first owner, thereby avoiding the loss of the warranty, which is what happens if the original owner flips the car within six months. Plus, he’ll be eligible for the 500K My Chevy Rewards points valued at $5,000 if he keeps the car six months. However, one fun aspect is that TJ’s name still appears on the car’s interior plaque.

The car was sold at MSRP $173K plus taxes, title, and tags that totaled $200,000 out the door. Mike had to trade in his truck just to free up some cash as the deal came about unexpectedly. Here’s the video as Mike takes delivery of TJ Hunt’s Z06:

You can see TJ Hunt’s video here explaining why he gave up the allocation for the car. By walking away from the deal instead of flipping it, TJ remains on GM’s good side and can possibly gain access to other limited vehicles from the company as a VIP buyer.

  1. Absolutely cannot stand this dude. He’s been oozing douchebro across YouTube for nearly a decade now. Beyond cringeworthy! Who watches that channel??

  2. Streetspeed content: 30% please buy my merch (crap), 30% here is the vehicle of the week were chancing off, 30% car stuff, and 10% bragging about himself in some way. I was happy when I heard we wasn’t getting a Z06 the first time around. Well he will probably sell it in 6 month’s and one day.

  3. Grift at its finest!!!! What GM & its dealers will tolerate for free publicity!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH is the right word for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Now he can take the car and do another jump across the creek. It’s funny that people are having to liquidate assets to buy a car. Wonder how their Bitcoin is doing these days.

  5. Wow, everyone being pretty tough on SS717! I don’t watch every video but I do know that he’s been a Vette guy from day one which is more than one can say about Strad (very annoying), TJ, or Emilia. GM didn’t make it’s decision on brand loyalty but on amount of subscribers. It’s also refreshing to see a guy have to move another vehicle to make a purchase rather than just write a check for another supercar. That aspect makes him more relatable to most viewers.

  6. All these people are annoying and have a fan base of those who for the most part only dream of owning cars like these. I like Emelia but she has learned what works to get the viewers from the others, Stradman in particular.

The headline $200,000 includes taxes. Maybe Austin should have quoted a number like that assuming he was paying California’s crazy taxes.

Stradman would likely be happy to sell his Z06 if he did not want to fall out of favor with GM. Who knows…it might be gone sometime after 6 months.

How does anyone know that TJ Hunt is not quietly getting a nice wad of cash under the table? Would you just pass it along to be a “good guy” after all that effort and thought behind the acquisition?

  7. Gm passed mike by because he’s not woke. Also he’s been flipping vettes like hotcakes. Love him or not he’s pro gun, pro Trump, and didn’t fall for the black out Tuesday crap.

  8. Of all the cars allocated, the people that got them shouldn’t have received them. Mike has had as many or more subscribers of the mentioned people in this thread, if we want to start with compared to Emilia, Stradman and TJ Hunter (don’t get me started on speed phenom) Mike has been into corvettes basically from day 1 and has had multiple corvettes on his channel. Though he is and can be annoying, it doesn’t take away the fact that it’s true and as i said, he has the subscriber base as well. Stradman, the most annoying Adderall hyped, overacting, over excited one of the group. i liked him when he was just starting out but ego, money and way to hyper videos turned me off. Mix in, he was never into corvettes, never had a corvette until the C8. He also started acting to good for the corvette brand where anything less than a ferrari , Buggatti, lamborghini etc was not good enough. It wasn’t until the C8 came out. Emilia, this one irks me. She was never into corvettes period. They went after the whole wommmann thing. She has been getting the red carpet treatment, being flown out to the facility with the woman big shot at GM and driving around the GM track. She happen to get a C8, modified it , broke it most the time like her other cars. Hype, hype, hype etc etc of the group her followers (and most of them) couldn’t even afford a used c5 if they were lucky (because they don’t have jobs). None of them are true corvette people other than SS717 and though Mike now is annoying, he is also is the only true patriot of all of them, likes guns, likes Trump and with how GM is now, he isn’t’ “woke” enough. I’m over these so called “influencers” . They don’t influence me in any way. Most of their crap is childish with these barely 20 year old kids, actually treating expensive cars like crap and not knowing anything about them (don’t say Emilia if you think she doesn’t know buzz words and told what to say then you aren’t watching the same channel) Ford did same crap with the Ford GT. Customers that should have received an allocation did not. GM is now doing it. Been a vette owner my whole life , multiple vettes, and it soured me a bit for sure what went on the last year or so with the corvette. There were quite a few other corvette channels that should have gotten allocation.
