[ACCIDENT] Watch as a Distracted Driver Rolls Right Over a C4 Corvette

Whoops!

We don’t know what more to say about this weird accident posted by a Reddit user.

The video starts out innocently enough as we watch an ordinary Ford SUV rolling down a Glendale, California street.

In the lower right part of the video, we then see a teal green C4 Corvette coupe come to a stop on a side street as the Ford approaches the intersection at the same time.

That’s when things get interesting. Apparently, the SUV driver was talking on her cell phone, maybe about what she was going to wear to Pilates class, and didn’t see the Corvette. She doesn’t even try to swerve to miss hitting the Corvette!

It’s hard to find something truly unique on the internet, but I think this might be the exception. I’ve watched this video five times already and I’m still not bored watching the big SUV roll up the driver’s side of the hood, over the door, and down the rear fender before coming to a stop behind the Corvette. It’s amazing that the SUV didn’t flip over in the process, but perhaps that was because the Corvette is so low that it just acted like a ramp.

We couldn’t find out any more details about the accident, but we’re just hoping the Corvette driver was able to slide toward the console and down in his seat to avoid being crushed. It’s scary to think about what could have happened if the roof panel had been removed.

As for the SUV driver, our advice is to put that phone down and pay better attention to the road!

  1. Unbelievable, what a Climax to this Video, willing to bet the C4 Driver is none too happy about this beautiful late C4. I really do feel for him, can’t imagine what I’d be thinking/doing after this happened to my nice Corvette on a beautiful afternoon. 😢🤬

  2. I wouldn’t judge to quickly, the Corvette appears to continue to pull out into the intersection with the oncoming SUV. It’s difficult to know if there was stop sign in the Corvette’s path, but I’d speculate the parked gray vehicle to the Corvette’s right would had obscured both their visibility’s. If you look closely the SUV driver appears to have both hands on the wheel, how do we really know a phone was involved? While easy to point blame on the SUV, I believe both drivers are culpable and share responsibility in this unfortunate incident.

  3. The Corvette did roll into the intersection a bit far and the SUV did cut the corner a bit too tight . So even tho I love Corvettes and have no use for any Soccer Mom SUV , I think they are both responsible.

  4. Several factors here: The Corvette is low. Always a problem in a world of high cars. The dark grey SUV parked near the corner blocking the Corvette’s view. It also blocks the Ford Explorers view until the last second. At the last second, the Corvette stops but the Ford must have not yet woke up to the reality that a car was right there. From this angle, it is hard to know if the Corvette is definitely too far forward or the SUV cutting the corner too close. The Ford SUV driver was probably on “autopilot” as (the driver) is likely a resident and just driving through as usual like dozens of times before in the last weeks/months. Ford is more at fault for not stopping as soon as it could see what was happening and just driving over the Corvette. I have an opinion about who might have been driving the Ford but would be called some “ist” names for expressing them.

  5. Unfortunate, but will not speculate, but always, always, ALWAYS check your surroundings. I’ve only had my ’23 for a month and have already had three near misses on the part of completely distracted drivers…and mine is Arctic White!

    Be careful, fam!

  6. When I first read the article, I honed in on three things. Woman, cell phone, and Californication. But then I watched the video. I didn’t see any stop signs and saw vehicles parked all along the curbs on the sides of the roads. That is a recipe for what happened in this Californication video.

  7. What makes you think the SUV driver was on a cell phone?
Perhaps she just does not like corvettes.
