[SPIED] 2023 Corvette Z06 On Display at Watkins Glen is a CTF with a Saleable VIN

For the past month or so we’ve been seeing 2023 Corvette Z06s with the Captured Test Fleet (CTF) sticker on the lower driver’s side windshield but we never had any proof that these were saleable cars and not pre-preproduction prototypes with an experimental EX on the VIN.

Today we finally got a picture of the VIN on a CTF car and it’s a non-EX VIN. That means instead of crushing the car when Chevy is done with it, it can actually be cleaned up and sold as a used car.

The pictures come from the Corvette Corral at Watkins Glen International which is where Corvette Racing and the C8.Rs will be in action for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen starting Sunday morning at 10:40 am.

The Black Corvette Z06 CFT is a Z07 equipped with Carbon Fiber wheels and the Edge Yellow stinger graphics on the hood. Inside we see a black interior with yellow stitching. Three photos were shared to MidEngineCorvetteForum.com and you can see the VIN sequence for the Z06 CTF is P5300009.

Just before Chevrolet began the Start of Regular Production (SORP) for the 2020 Stingrays, they actually ran a large batch of saleable pre-production Corvettes through Bowling Green. These Corvettes were shipped to the Technical Center at Warren Michigan, and then the cars were sent out to select dealers as an extra allocation for them to do whatever they wanted to do with it. You might remember those VIN sequences started with M50 versus the M51 which were the customer-ordered cars.

  4. Getting more than a bit tired of the constant teasers, videos, articles about a Vette I can’t F-ing order or find out the F-ing price of. ENOUGH OFF THIS CRAP. I’m tired of waiting.

  5. Yeah, GM Zapped all the fun out of this thing. Even when we get the information there will be a lot of pissed off customers, way-to-go GM you burned us out !!!
