Corvettes for Sale: 1963 Corvette Convertible Barn Find with an Nova SS V8

Interest has been high in this 1963 Corvette convertible that’s been parked for the past 10 years and is now being offered on eBay.

With the auction coming to a close on Monday night, 30 bids have already pushed the best offer to $35,000.

This Sting Ray hasn’t run in 10 years, per the seller, but had a “noticeable” coolant leak the last time it was driven. Hopefully, they made it home before doing any engine damage.

We’re surprised someone could have a classic Sting Ray in their garage and not be tempted to drive it for such a long period of time, but as we’ve witnessed through countless other similar ads over the years, life does sometimes tend to get in the way, doesn’t it?

The owner explains that he “parked it and simply never got around to checking it out or fixing” and it’s sat ever since “in a location a bit away from my home.”

On the bright side, he says the car “ran well” a decade ago, but nevertheless, it will now need to be towed home by the new owner since the tires are flat, the battery is dead, and the seller isn’t attempting to turn the engine over to prevent any possible damage.

Other highlights include the tan interior, which looks to be in excellent condition; two tops (hard and soft, though their condition is not listed), and a four-speed manual transmission.

Unfortunately, the original 327 engine is nowhere to be found, and it’s been replaced by a 350 small block from a 1972 Nova SS.

Another drawback to the car, at least in the opinion of our eyes, is the gold paint that replaced the original blue sometime in the late ‘70s. Maybe the owner back then wanted their Sting Ray to match their refrigerator. After the original listing, the seller pointed out that paint is missing on both the center front and driver front corner (no big deal to us since we’d repaint the whole thing anyway), the current bumpers have pitting, and the passenger rear has a rusted through the hole.

The new owner will also have to deal with a non-working radio, though since this car isn’t a rolling testament to originality anyway, wouldn’t be a big deal to replace with a more useful aftermarket unit.

The deal will include a few extras, including a disc conversion from a ’72 Corvette, a body lift kit (rubber mount), a set of shocks, new chrome door handles, replacement Sting Ray moniker, refurbished aftermarket chrome bumper set, and more.

Will you become the fourth person to own this classic Sting Ray – following in the footsteps of three previous owners, all of whom were Florida residents. The original owner kept it until 1967, and the second owner had it until 2005 when the current owner bought it.
