Corvettes for Sale: 2001 Corvette Z06 in Rare Speedway White Offered on Craigslist

Oh, Craigslist! You had me at Speedway White, but alas, it’s the duct tape holding the interior together that will probably have buyers running the other way.

A craigslist search for “rare Corvette” turned up this 2001 Corvette Z06 in rare Speedway White offered for sale in Arden, North Carolina. The Z06 is offered for $24,000.

If you’ve been reading us for a while, you know this unicorn color was only offered on 352 Z06s in 2001 and the Z06 model wouldn’t see another white exterior offered until the C6 Ron Fellows Z06 special edition came out in 2007.

The seller has been using the Z06 Corvette for high-performance driving events with NASA for the last few years and he addresses the duct tape issue right away saying “the biggest issue is the underside of the dash on the driver side is dropping.” With 88,000 miles on the odometer, he also states that the car runs strong and straight, and has no mechanical issues. So you’ve got that going for you, which is nice!

The 20-year-old sports car’s exterior appears to have had its share of experiences as well with small blemishes and other scars showing on various panels. We note the inclusion of an aftermarket exhaust system with just two exhaust tips showing out the rear. Inside the car, we see the aforementioned duck take holding up the lower trim on the dash on the driver’s side. The stock 6-speed shifter has been replaced with a short-throw example and the rare firethorn interior could use a good cleaning as well.

At $24K, the car is at the higher end of the C5Z pricing spectrum, and for the price, there are better examples of C5Zs for sale. But good luck finding one right away in Speedway White. The seller claims he searched for a year to find the color combo and is open to offers as starting a business is forcing the sale of the car. “I’m a reasonable man, but low-ball offers will be ignored,” he writes at the end of the craigslist ad.
