Since we have last checked in with our friends at ACS Composite, they have added two new highly-anticipated aerodynamic accessories which are now available for the C8 Corvette. Jonathan at ACS tells us these are their most sought-after products that customers have been asking for and after checking them out, we think they will be in high demand as well!
1VM Side Rockers for the C8 Corvette
Back in July, ACS released their 1VM Front Splitter which filled the gap between the entry-level 3-piece OEM Z51 splitter and GM’s more aggressive 5VM splitter. ACS is now offering the perfect complement to the 1VM splitter with their new ACS 1VM C8 Rockers which offers the elegant look and protection of side rockers on your C8 Corvette without the pretentious wings found on the 5VM rocker panels.
The 1VM rockers were inspired from Corvette Racing’s C8.R “barge board” which features a straight-back and step-out design that covers the side of the car from the front wheel well to the rear wheel well. The result is a functionally purpose-built rocker extension that doesn’t draw away from the overall package. For those that want a more conservative look on their C8s without the wings, the 1VM Rockers and Front Splitter is the way to go.
ACS manufactures the 1VM C8 Rockers from their new PC Composite material which they have found to be stronger and more durable than any fiberglass, carbon or ABS parts. The 1VM Rockers are also resistant to high heat and rock chips while the extended undertray protects the exposed painted portions underneath the C8 Corvette. They are painted in Carbon Flash Metallic to match your Corvette exterior trim and they are compatible with ACS Composite’s popular C8 Rock Guards for enhanced protection against rock chips.
The ACS 1VM C8 Rockers are installed using a supplied rocker bracket and aluminum black split rivets and unlike the dealer-installed 5VM rockers, there is no drilling into the side of the body required. That makes the installation of the 1VM rockers reversible as no drill holes are visible if the side rockers are removed. ACS offers up an install video that also details the differences between their 1VM C8 Rockers and GM’s 5VM Rocker design and also shows how to remove the OEM Z51 rocker extension before installing the 1VM C8 Rocker.
The new ACS Composite 1VM C8 Rockers was created for 2020+ Corvette Coupes and Convertibles and they fit on both non-Z51 and Z51 models. They are priced at $1,699 for the pair and shipping is free.
5VM Side Rockers for the C8 Corvette
If you are in the camp that loves the aggressive posture of the OEM 5VM C8 side skirts with the signature winglets in front of the rear wheels, ACS Composite has improved upon GM’s design with their ACS 5VM Carbon Flash Rockers for the C8 Corvette. Like the 1VM rockers, ACS has created an undertray extension to the side rockers which offers protection to the rolled painted body panel underneath the C8, and ACS uses a custom-designed rocker bracket that doesn’t require the side hole to be drilled as is the case with the dealer-installed OEM version.
ACS Composite already offers their own version of the 5VM Front Splitter and these 5VM C8 Rocker Panels in Carbon Flash Metallic will compliment that look. Made from highly durable PC Composite material, the black molded side rockers are heat resistant and with a black substrate, scrapes or rock chips will not show through.
Similar to the RPO code 5W8, these 5VM C8 side rockers are finished in Carbon Flash Black or CFZ, and it will match all of the C8 Corvette’s exterior accents including the front grille, rear diffuser, the side intake boomerang, and more.
ACS Composite will begin shipping their 5VM Carbon Flash Black C8 Rockers on September 20th, and a dedicated install video will be coming shortly. The 5VM C8 Side Rockers are priced at $1,948 and free shipping is included.
