Corvettes on Craigslist: Restored 1967 Corvette with L71 427/435 Tri-Power V8 Engine

How would you like to become the owner of one of the most powerful C2 Corvettes ever built?

Or should we say built and rebuilt.

This 1967 Corvette convertible boasts of having an L71 427/435 hp Tri-Power engine under the hood, capable of 0 to 60 times of 4.9 seconds and roaring through the quarter in 13.8 seconds with a top speed of 142 mph.

While that may not sound all that impressive compared to the modern car’s 0 to 60 time under 3 seconds, it was still quite a feat 53 years ago.

This Sting Ray is being offered unfortunately no longer for sale on craigslist.com, which is a shame. There was no price listed so we’re going to assume that it sold for some impressive dollars.

The car – one of only five made the rare combination of Silver Pear exterior and Dark Blue interior with a black top – is a four-time national NCRS Top Flight winner and a four-time Bloomington Gold honoree. This ’67 features power steering, AM/FM radio, rally wheels with red line tires, and even a glove box signed by the legendary Corvette engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov.

As if that weren’t enough, the car underwent a nut and bolt frame-off restoration and has covered just 70 miles since being refurbished.

The new owner will receive plenty of documentation about the car – which sold new at Fronk Chevrolet in Tremonton, Utah – including the build sheet, window sticker, warranty plate, and receipts.

One thing that impressed us glancing through the photos of this beautiful Sting Ray was the towel underneath the rag top, we’d assume to keep from getting residue on the paint underneath.

As the seller notes, “if you are looking for perfection, look no further. It doesn’t get any better than this.”

Be prepared to dig deep in your wallet for this one.

Editor’s Note:
Unfortunately, the craigslist ad for this 1967 Corvette has been deleted by the owner. We were just a little too late for this Barn Find, but stay tuned as we showcase other restored and unrestored barn find Corvettes for sale.

  1. The mark the weatherstrip from both the soft top & the hardtop left on the lid always pissed me off, it was pretty easy to get off but it took time that cut into my cruising, so I would lay a couple of towels down. Now I see that the different vendors sell something for that. This ’67 is my idea of what Corvette muscle should look like, I bet it sold for a boatload of Benjamins, and probably worth it too. I hope the new owner will take it out for a spin when the weather is nice, it’d be a shame to keep it locked away in a garage or museum .
