Corvettes on eBay: 2020 Corvette Stingray for $110,000


It’s no secret that some of those who have deposits on the new 2020 Corvette Stingray are buying them to flip in what will certainly be a hot market. But I’m a bit surprised to see the first eBay ad so soon from someone with an early build order as we could still be looking at four to five months before the 2020 Corvette Stingrays starts shipping to customers.

There will always be flippers when it comes to hot cars (or any other product that becomes hot) and there will always be those buyers who don’t care how much over the MSRP it costs. And let me clue you in on what’s going to happen to the Corvette market based on what we saw when the C7 Corvette first hit the streets: People are going to start losing their minds trying to find an available allocation or someone who backed out of a deal.

So then, when it appears that you have no further options and do not wait another year, then that’s when you would drop $110,000 for a 1LT Corvette Stingray with the Z51 performance package this Arctic White Stingray that was listed today.

We came across this 2020 Corvette Stingray Z51 Coupe for sale on eBay that’s being sold as a “1st Wave and Very Early Release”. The Corvette does feature the Z51 package as mentioned and also comes with the Competition Seats, Carbon Flash mirrors and Silver spoke rims. This is essentially a Z51 stripper model perfect for track rats that MSRPs somewhere around $68,300 based on running the listed options though Chevy’s Build and Price Configurator.

That’s assuming we were able to follow the somewhat chaotic description of the car which includes references to Motor Trend’s discredited 650-hp dyno result:

The seller doesn’t really do the photos of the car any justice and even included a pre-reveal rendering from our friends Chazcron and the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com.

The eBay listing runs for 15 days and closes on 11/19 at 4:58PM. So if you absolutely have to have an Arctic White Corvette Stingray and don’t care what it costs, here you go!

  1. How is it possible to advertise something you do not have ? Only on E Bay can one sell the promise and take a down payment.
    I have read the first several months production will be primarily full option cars . No concrete evidence but it makes perfect sense to build high profit cars as the demand will be tremendous on early production. The strike didn’t help their bottom line either. Recouping from the premium sales helps the dealers as well as the company.

    Because a dime over MSRP is just as ridiculous… What’s the saying “a fool and their money….”

  7. Ridiculous but Every time I think people can’t be that stupid I’m proven wrong. As mom used to say. “There’s a cover for every pot”

  8. My deposit was placed Nov 2014, I am number 1 on my dealers list. This guy trying to sell this LT1 as a early delivery is BS, The only orders to be produced in the first 3 months are for LT2s or LT3s. My LT3 stickered out at abouy $93,000. I will be lucky to get my car before Feb.
