Driving past a car on the highway isn’t the ideal way to take a photo of the interior, and we only have one or two screenshots for reference, but we believe this is one of the first sightings of a 2020 Corvette Stingray with the Morello Red interior.
That’s good news if they are now producing C8s with the new interior as so far our only comparison of the color has come from seeing it on the 2018 Cadillacs.
The video comes Speed Phenom via YouTube and we featured one of his previous videos when the 2020 Corvette Stingray was revealed at the Petersen Museum in California. He was in Detroit for the Woodward Dream Cruise and comes across two C8 Corvettes while driving around, an Elkhart Lake Blue Coupe and this Sebring Orange Convertible Prototype.
As for Morello Red, it’s not the same as the C7’s Spice Red Interior according to Corvette interior designer Brett Golliff who is quoted as saying the following about the new dipped interior:
“The difference between Spice Red and Morello Red is Spice has more yellow and is a little more orange looking. Morello, on the other hand, is far more blue and is more cool looking. Like a fine wine.”
Morello Red (RPO HU3) is a “dipped” interior and is only available with the 3LT Trim Package. The color is only available on the following exteriors: Long Beach Red, Arctic White, Ceramic Gray, Silver, Black, and Shadow Gray. Interestingly, unless you order the D30 color override, Morello Red will not be available on Sebring Orange cars, which makes this a unicorn sighting.
