Looking for a Corvette event this weekend, but can’t make it to FunFest? Why not head to the Motor City Sunday for the first-ever Corvettes on the Island event? The new event will take place on historic Belle Isle in Detroit from 10am-3pm this Sunday, September 23rd.
Corvettes on the Island is being coordinated by Corvette superhero, Larry Courtney, who also facilitates the annual Corvettes on Woodward events. A $10 donation for charity gets you into the event and a day full of Corvette fun.
In addition to hanging out with hundreds of Corvette enthusiasts, attendees will be able rub elbows with a couple members of GM’s Corvette team, participate in raffles and giveaways, and enjoy grub from either of 2 onsite food trucks. The day will wrap up at 3pm with a lap around historic Belle Isle (presumably on portions of the Indycar track).
As we pen this piece of prose the forecast for Sunday looks fantastic. Plenty of Sunshine and a high near 70 degrees. Between the fantastic setting and the expected great weather, Corvettes on the Island is shaping up to be a great event.
Time is short, but Larry is still looking for ZR1’s to display and volunteers to help with parking. If you can help, reach out to Larry Courtney at [email protected].
