Corvettes at Carlisle and Lingenfelter Team up for Revamped Autocross at 2018 Show

The 2018 Corvette show season continues to take shape. Our friends over at Corvettes at Carlisle recently announced an exciting enhancement their autocross event. Through a partnership with Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, the event will now feature practice, qualifying, and a final bracket-style shoot to crown a winner.

Previously the Corvettes at Carlisle Autocross consisted of navigating the course for $20 and charting your lap times. While fun and exciting for competitors, there wasn’t a big focus on competition or recognition for your accomplishments.

Now, in cahoots with Lingenfelter, they’ve made some significant enhancements to the autocross program at Carlisle. The 2018 show will feature Friday and Saturday morning practice and qualifying sessions. The actual autocross competition will take place mid-morning Saturday. Based on their qualifying times, the top 8 cars will return for a bracket-style shoot out to determine the overall winner. That King of Auto-X will be recognized on the main stage later Saturday as part of the usual afternoon activities there. In addition to bragging rights, the winner will also take home a $1,000 prize pack courtesy of Lingenfelter. The autocross is open to all Fun Field participants and cost for all this fun is still the same $20 as before.

The demand to drive your Corvette to the limit continues to grow and we at Corvettes at Carlisle understand this,” continued Miller. “That’s why we incorporated the autocross. In fact, new this year we’ll have more of a competition associated with autocross happening Friday and Saturday. It’s a competition, it’s for fun and best of all, it sponsored by Lingenfelter Performance and supported by our friends at the CVCC! Not only is it fun to do but it’s fun to watch – we’re excited to add the shootout to the schedule and look forward to seeing more Corvettes on the track than ever before!”
