[VIDEO] 2019 Corvette ZR1s on South Florida's Alligator Alley

Just days after the reveal of the 2019 Corvette ZR1 in mid-November, we started getting reports that a group of engineers were testing the 755-horsepower Corvettes along South Florida’s Alligator Alley. Since the reveal, engineers have been spotted off and on, testing various configurations of ZR1s on that stretch of highway that cuts through the Florida Everglades and connects Naples to Miami.

A CorvetteBlogger reader named Phil Armstrong actually supplied us with photos back in November when he spotted the unwrapped Corvette ZR1s refueling along Alligator Alley.

Earlier this week, Phil sent us some new photos and a quick video of two more Corvette ZR1s that he spotted this week. The Yellow Coupe and a Ceramic Matrix Gray Convertible (or is it Arctic White?) are both outfitted with the base low-wing and were tooling along in no particular rush.

And here is a quick video that Phil got of the two Corvette ZR1s which I looped once to make it a bit longer:

The 2019 Corvette ZR1s are scheduled to begin production on March 5, which is just over three weeks from today. We expect the first customer deliveries to begin in late March or early April at the latest. Already we know some Corvette peeps that were lucky to have their order picked up in the first order concensus and it will be nice to see some of these customer cars at the NCM Bash at the end of April.

A big thanks again to Phil for the photos and videos!

  1. Why not last Thursday??? I drove Naples to Miami and back the same day and only saw 3 Corvettes total!

  2. Must be three different ZR1’s…three different license plate numbers = three different cars!
