[VIDEO] Corvette Racing's Oliver Gavin Looks Back on His Career in Sports Car Racing

Oliver Gavin is now in his 16th season as a driver for Corvette Racing and his impressive resume features five ISMA/ALMS Championships as well as five class victories at the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Our friends at Mobil 1 The Grid have a new video out featuring the veteran British racer who looks back on his career in sports car racing.

Gavin got his start in Karting when he was just 11 years old and his career really took off in 1991 after receiving the McLaren Autosport Young Driver Award. Although his goal was set to race in Formula 1, he eventually switched to racing sports cars and credits Ron Fellows for passing along Doug Fehan’s phone number. After a conversation with Doug and hammering out some details, Oliver became a driver for Corvette Racing.

Here is Oliver Gavin in his own words:

Oliver and the boys from Corvette Racing will be in action this week for the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix at Laguna Seca with the green flag dropping at 5:00 PM ET on Sunday, September 24th.
