Chevrolet’s fastest production car ever, the 2015 Corvette Z06, will make its formal premiere in the United Kingdom at the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend.
“As one of the biggest gatherings of motorsports and supercar enthusiasts in the world, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the ideal venue for Chevrolet to display its performance car capabilities.” said Alan Batey, Chevrolet Global Brand Chief. “We are particularly excited to premiere the all-new Corvette Z06 to our UK fans and a very special surprise” to be announced on Friday, June 26.
In addition to showing off the new Z06, which is capable of going from 0 to 100 in 3.4 seconds with the eight-speed automatic transmission and in 3.8 seconds with the seven-speed manual, Chevy will have a special display of historic and current Stingrays at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The Festival of Speed will be held Friday, June 26 through Sunday, June 28, with the annual Goodwood Moving Motor Show set for Thursday, June 25.
Festival-goers can also satisfy their thirst and hunger each day at the Chevrolet Café in the heart of the event.
The 650-horsepower Z06 Coupe and the Corvette Stingray Convertible will take on the legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb as part of the 2015 Michelin Supercar Run, all in keeping with the festival’s “Flat-Out and Fearless” theme.
So what is the “very special surprise” that Alan Batey was alluding to? We’re not sure, but we think its the 2016 Camaro. Check out the teaser video from Chevrolet Europe:
