[VIDEO] Hennessey Shows Off the HPE650 Corvette Stingray

Most of us will never have the chance to drive, much less own, a supercar like the 2014 Hennessey Performance HPE650 supercharged Stingray or the upcoming 2015 Corvette Z06.

But while we’re dreaming, let’s go ahead and compare what we know about these two dream cars and try to come up with a conclusion about which one we’d take.

If you want exclusivity, then the Hennessey might be your best option. Only 100 of the cars will be produced, and with an engine tune that cranks out 650 horsepower – 25 more than expected in the Z06, the Hennessey definitely will have its fans.

Then there is the price differential.

The Hennessey doesn’t come cheap, but at an estimated $80,000, it’s still likely to be well below the Z06, which some folks believe will be in the neighborhood of $100,000.

Of course, for that kind of money, the Z06 does offer quite a bit more goodies than the Hennessey. For instance, the Z06 benefits from the skills of the talented GM engineers, not to mention the new eight-speed automatic transmission that will be an option for the Z-car for the first time ever.

The Hennessey, on the other hand, is mainly an engine upgrade mixed in with a few new body pieces made of carbon fiber. The Z06 will include aerodynamic changes, upgraded tires, carbon ceramic brakes, performance whistles, and more, but at a higher price.

The bottom line, then, is if you have the money to buy either of these fabulous cars, it’s likely to come down to just a matter of your personal taste.

That’s one treat we’d definitely love to have a bite of!
