[PICS] Laying Asphalt at the Corvette Museum's Motorsports Park

While the focus at the National Corvette Museum has centered around the sinkhole and recovering the fallen eight Corvettes, something remarkable is happening right across the street.

Construction crews at the NCM Motorsports Park began laying down asphalt on the paddock which will be used for a skidpad and autocross events.

NCM Motorsports Park officials posted this update on Facebook:

It is so exciting to see the pavement going down in the Paddock, Autocross pad area. Next up on the track Guard Rail will start going up next week on the inside of the track. We are a few weeks out from Lime Stabilization for the base of the racing surface and runoff areas. Things are starting to happen fast with the great weather.

The NCM Motorsports Park will officially open during the 20th Anniversary Celebration at the National Corvette Museum on August 27th-30th.
