[ACCIDENT] 1960 Corvette Strikes a Tree in Massachusetts

A Thursday afternoon crash of a classic C2 Corvette into a tree left an unidentified man in serious condition in Lunenberg, Mass.

The man apparently veered off the road in a red 1960 Corvette, striking a tree on Lancaster Avenue.

He was the only person in the car, according to Officer Robert DiConza.

“The accident is still under investigation. I haven’t had a chance to look at any of the paperwork yet so I’m not sure exactly what happened,” DiConza said Thursday night. Police Chief James Marino added that the driver was apparently LifeFlighted to UMass Medical Center in Worcester for treatment of his injuries.

One of the first on the scene, Officer DiConza declined to say whether the victim was alert or conscious when he was put on the copter, though he did believe the injuries were serious.
